This swan had managed to get itself tangled with fishing hooks and line on its neck. This is a common occurrence for water birds on UK waterways and our team receive multiple calls each month to help birds in this situation. On this occasion, out team were able to deploy the rescue boat and secure the bird. After a small journey back to dry land, the hooks were removed and the fishing line untangled from various parts of the body. He was then given a thorough health check from our team on the ground, and with no injuries found, he was able to rejoin his mate on the waterway.
